Hello parents and guardians and students!
This is to inform you that your student has their Native American Project “In Harmony with Nature” due Monday the 21st of September. If would be of great service if you could communicate with your student that you are aware that their presentation (including costumes) is due by that date. You (students) have had four days in class to work on it with your groups. If you are curious about the assignment, the document can be located on my website under the page “Handouts”.
Thanks so much!

Hello parents and guardians!
My name is Miss. Rachel Schiff. As I am sure you have heard, I am your student’s Language Arts teacher for their junior year. Although it is difficult for me to personally invite all of you to my classroom, I would like to make you aware of back to school night. It is my goal to teach your students to the best of my ability, as well as support them in all endeavors. I have been teaching at VHS for three years and love every second of the day.
If you have not found information on Back to School Night, the information is as follows:
Back to School Night will be
DATE: Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009.
TIME: 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
WHERE: Auditorium
The meeting will start in the VHS Auditorium, at 6:00 p.m.
After the short meeting parents will take a “walk through” of their students schedules in 10 minute intervals.
In addition, I have a student teacher this year, Miss. Curtis. She is in the California State University Fullerton teaching credential program. I am pleased to see her positive interaction with your students and know this is going to be a great year.
If for some reason you are not able to attend Back to School Night, please feel free to contact me at any time. I respond to email fastest and prefer you use those means of communication, unless this is not possible for you.
Again welcome back to school (because we know for you as parents this is also a challenge). I am so excited to see what this year has in store for us.
Respectfully,
Rachel Schiff

Hello parents/guardians-
I have assigned a research paper that is on The Color Purple. This assignment is worth 200 points. I am concerned that your students may decide not to do the assignment so late in the year. This can tragically demolish their grades. Please make note that the assignment is posted online as well as a printed copy for your students.
The rough draft is May 22
nd
The final draft is May 29
th
Also note, students must have a bibliography so they understand the multitude of issues that will occur in college without proper citation. I implore you to encourage your students to hand in this paper on time. I will not accept late work!
Thanks so much-
Rachel Schiff
