Ladies and Gents!
This week we will be taking notes on how to better improve our writing. I have a handout for you in the classroom. If you miss a day, copy the notes from a friend. The overall goal will be to work on your writing skills and by doing so, we have an essay. Here is the prompt!:
Scenario: You enter a store to purchase some items that you greatly need. There are no other stores within a great distance of your location. When you get to the counter you see a sign on the wall that offends your personal beliefs. Do you continue with your purchase?
If your answer is “yes”: explain why you would continue to support an establishment that has offended you. Explain your rationale and provide insight as to how to deal with that situation. Is it worth saying anything to the owner of the establishment? Why?
If your answer is “no”: explain what you do to leave the store, seeing that the “checker” is already ringing you up. What needs to be said? How might this be a moral stand and how might you convey your concerns?

Essay prompt two
If someone of authority offends you, do you have the right to stand up for yourself knowing you will be heavily punished? If so, please explain the extent in which you feel it is appropriate to do so? Or do the repercussions of your actions outweigh your opportunity to express your feelings.
